Ricardo Escobar Fatally Shot in Late-Night Attack in Port Loyola

Gun violence rocked the Port Loyola area of Belize City late Tuesday night. Sometime before eleven o’clock, shots rang out on Nurse Findley Crescent, leaving one man dead. Police say thirty-eight-year-old Ricardo Arturo Escobar was gunned down in a hail of bullets, hit multiple times in the chest, arms, and back. He was rushed to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital, but doctors pronounced him dead just minutes later. Investigators believe Escobar was approached by an unknown gunman who opened fire before making a quick escape. Tonight, police are searching for answers, and the shooter, as the investigation continues.
