San Pedro Men Caught with 47 Rounds, No Guns
Four men believed to be planning a sea heist were intercepted by the Belize Coast Guard off San Pedro before they could strike. The group, three adults and a seventeen-year-old, was found with ski masks and forty-seven live rounds of ammunition, but no guns. The men, all from San Pedrito, appeared in court today. Two of them pleaded guilty to keeping ammunition without a license. Juan Carlos Blanco admitted to forty-six rounds and was fined five thousand dollars, while Brandon Brown, the son of a police corporal, took responsibility for one round and was fined one thousand, five hundred and four dollars. Both were ordered to pay part of their fines immediately or face jail time. The other two men walked free after charges were withdrawn. Authorities believe the group was on a mission, but the investigation continues.
