Second Suspect Charged in Geoffrey Crawford Murder Case

Tonight, there’s a major development in a chilling murder case that’s haunted Crooked Tree Village since 2021. It was a crime that shocked the community, a sixty-nine-year-old retiree, Geoffrey Crawford, kidnapped from his home, brutally bludgeoned, and buried in a shallow grave just steps from where he lived. Back then, police arrested one man, forty-one-year-old Maurice Usher, a construction worker from Taylor’s Alley in Belize City. But the investigation didn’t stop there. After years of digging and persistence, police have now made a second arrest. This morning, thirty-one-year-old Patrick Lloyd Young, a sanitation worker from Dangriga, was escorted to the Belize City Magistrate’s Court. He’s now facing a joint murder charge alongside Usher. Young appeared unrepresented before Magistrate Mannon Dennison, who explained that his case will follow the same path as his co-accused, heading to the High Court after preliminary inquiry. Usher’s case has already been committed for trial, and both men remain on remand at the Belize Central Prison. The arrest of Young marks a significant breakthrough in a case that’s lingered for over four years, and tonight, the family of Geoffrey Crawford may be one step closer to justice.
