Second Suspect Charged in Killing of Teen
The investigation into the murder of 19-year-old Jamir Cambranes is intensifying, with police now charging a second suspect as they continue to build a case they say is supported by surveillance and digital evidence.
Cambranes was fatally shot on April 21 in an incident that shocked Belize City and triggered an immediate police response. Days after the killing, officers arrested and charged Kenrick Robinson with murder following the review of CCTV footage and forensic material.
On Wednesday, police confirmed another major development in the case with the arrest and charge of 21-year-old Kameron Heusner, a Belize City fisherman and student. Authorities say Heusner was formally charged after investigators obtained a warrant as the probe advanced.
While a motive has not been released, police say the investigation has been driven by strong technical and investigative work, allowing them to identify and link suspects to the incident.
