Shooting in Belize City Leaves One Dead

Belize City police are investigating a shooting that left one man dead and injured several others, including a minor, on Wednesday evening.

The incident occurred around 8:25 p.m. at Pinks Alley, where 26-year-old Antuan Rivero, 28-year-old Francis Nolberto, 28-year-old Dane Gillette, and a minor were sitting on a step outside a house. According to preliminary reports, a passing car opened fire on the group, striking all four.

All victims were rushed to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital for treatment. Dane Gillette later succumbed to his injuries, while Rivero, Nolberto, and the minor are reported to be in stable condition.

Police continue to investigate the shooting and are appealing to the public for any information that could assist in identifying the shooter(s).
