Shooting Victim Ryan Hyde Dies

After being shot in Cotton Tree Village on Friday, Ryan Hyde succumbed to his injuries while receiving care.

He was first rushed to the Western Regional Hospital, then transferred to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital for enhanced care.

According to reports, an unidentified gunman approached Hyde on Friday night and shot him once in the head.

Hyde, a Roaring Creek resident, is no stranger to the law. In 2018, he pleaded guilty to stealing 220 feet of copper wire from a SMART compound in Corozal. He was fined $1,000 but remained in police custody and was transported to Belmopan, where he and another individual were charged with the attempted murder of farmer Jose Amilcar Najera, who was shot in Belmopan on December 21, 2017.
