Showers Linger as Easter Weather Improves Gradually

Easter is usually marked by hot, humid, and mostly sunny conditions, perfect for beach outings and outdoor activities. But this year, persistent showers and thunderstorms throughout the week have raised questions about what the holiday weekend may bring. To get clarity on the forecast, we reached out to the National Meteorological Service, which says while some unsettled weather will linger, gradual improvement is expected as the Easter weekend unfolds.

On the Phone: Crystal Rosalez, Forecaster, National Meteorological Service of Belize

“Going into the weekend, at least up to tomorrow we can still expect a few showers and isolated thunderstorms. For this afternoon activities are going to continue for northern and inland areas and over the south tonight, move along the coast and then back over the north later tonight into tomorrow morning. Then a similar pattern is expected for tomorrow afternoon. However, by tomorrow evening we should see a gradual improvement. For tomorrow night going into Saturday, we can expected only isolated showers or thunderstorms. Mostly over the south for Friday night and some coastal area Saturday morning. For Saturday and Sunday activities will be isolated shower activity, until Monday afternoon we might see a slight increase in showers or thunderstorms.”
