“Shyne” Announces Return to Stage
Moses “Shyne” Barrow has announced a return to the stage. He is stepping back into the music realm in a celebratory move to mark 25 years since the release of his debut album “Shyne”.
Barrow is set to headline a concert in Brooklyn, New York, on May 2, 2026. He first rose to international fame in the late 1990s but was convicted in connection with a 1999 New York nightclub shooting. He served nearly nine years in prison before being deported to Belize.
In 2020, Barrow entered politics and won the Mesopotamia constituency, later becoming Leader of the Opposition. He lost his Mesopotamia seat in the 2025 general election amid a prolonged leadership dispute within the party. Tracy Panton later succeeded him, becoming the first woman to lead a mass party and to serve as Leader of the Opposition.
Barrow described his return to the stage as a “surreal return to the stage in the neighbourhood where I grew up for a night of performances celebrating classic raw hip hop.”
