Six Courts to Be Shared for Local Sports

Belize’s athletes and communities could see improved access to sports facilities following a new partnership between the National Sports Council (NSC) and the Belize Basketball Federation (BBF).

Under a newly signed Memorandum of Understanding, six indoor and outdoor courts will now be shared for basketball, volleyball, and other approved sports. The move is aimed at making better use of existing facilities and giving more people access to safe, quality spaces for training and games.

The NSC will handle scheduling to ensure all sports groups get fair access, while the BBF will use the courts for official games and events.

“This is a meaningful investment in Belize’s sporting future,” the NSC said in a statement. “It strengthens collaboration, makes better use of our infrastructure, and opens up more opportunities for athletes at all levels.”

Both groups say they’re committed to working together to turn these courts into vibrant spaces for competition and community engagement.
