Fire Destroys Ladyville Home

A fire on Wednesday night destroyed the interior of a home in Ladyville, Belize District, but fortunately, no one was injured.

According to police, they responded to reports of a house fire around 9:00 p.m. at #7 Hibiscus Street. Upon arrival, officers observed a green, two-storey building engulfed in flames.

Firefighters from Ladyville were joined by additional personnel from Belize City. Together, they managed to bring the blaze under control and extinguish it.

Initial investigations revealed that 35-year-old Sheena Bradley was inside when she noticed smoke coming from the back of the building. Upon further inspection, she realised the smoke was coming from within the house. She exited the premises and alerted authorities.

The house, owned by Jean Bernadin Sr., was not insured. Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the fire.
