Taiwan Reinforces Belize Ties with Return of Ambassador Amino Chi
Taiwan is reinforcing its diplomatic presence in Belize with the return of a familiar face. Amino C.Y. Chi, Ambassador of the Republic of China (Taiwan), is back in the country, this time for his third posting. Ambassador Chi touched down last Thursday, where he was met at the airport by members of the Taiwanese community, embassy staff, and the Taiwan Technical Mission. Soon after his arrival, he hosted a dinner with community leaders and Belizean partners, setting the tone for deeper collaboration and stronger partnerships in the months ahead. His return follows the departure of Ambassador Lily Li‑Wen Hsu, who served from 2023 until February of this year. She was widely recognized for her efforts in strengthening bilateral ties between Belize and Taiwan. Now, with Ambassador Chi back at the helm, the Taiwanese Embassy says it is looking forward to continued engagement with partners and friends, as both countries open what it calls a new chapter in Taiwan‑Belize relations.
