“They Could Have Killed Us”: Bradley Paumen Recounts Violent Home Invasion

Police are investigating a violent home invasion and attempted murder that occurred Wednesday evening in the Dark Knight area of Frank’s Eddy Village, Cayo District.

Bradley Paumen, 68, gave a harrowing account to News 5 Live of a violent home invasion that left him shot and his family traumatized.

Paumen described returning home after dropping his children off, only to discover that three masked gunmen had already entered the house, holding his wife and children at gunpoint. “When I ran up and grabbed the kids, they held a gun to my 9-year-old son’s head and told my wife to get the safe and the money,” he said.

He explained that a struggle ensued when he confronted the attackers. “One of them pointed a gun at my head, but it jammed when he tried to shoot,” Paumen recalled. Despite being shot in the back and chest, he managed to survive the attack. “I felt they were going to kill me, so I tried to throw the guy with the gun off the railing,” he said.

Paumen said the intruders were after cash, payroll, and family jewelry. “They even took the coins from where we keep the little ones’ change. They were there for every dollar we had,” he said, adding that the family had never seen the men before, though they appeared to know his routines.

“I feel very lucky to be alive,” Paumen told News 5 Live. “I just hope they catch these guys so they can’t hurt anyone else.”
