Travellers Brings September Celebrations Flavor to Life with Innovative Cocktails and Special Deals
Mixing Up September Celebrations
September Celebrations are getting a flavorful twist as Travellers Liquors brings its signature rum into the spotlight with creative cocktails, special promotions, and events throughout the month.
Joining Open Your Eyes was Zeron Elrington, Mixologist at Travellers Liquors, who demonstrated how Belizeans can use Travellers products to create refreshing and innovative drinks at home while celebrating the September season.
This year, Travellers is placing a special focus on its coconut rum, with Elrington showcasing a Coconut Sorrel Spritzer that combines local flavors with current drink trends.
A Coconut Sorrel Spritzer with a Belizean Twist
The featured cocktail takes inspiration from the growing popularity of spritzers and refreshing drinks, with Travellers putting its own Belizean spin on the trend.
The recipe starts with 2 ounces of Travellers Coconut Rum, followed by approximately 2 ounces of sorrel syrup, and half an ounce of lime juice. A homemade ginger syrup is then added to balance the tartness of the sorrel and lime.
Elrington explained that the ginger syrup can be prepared using a simple syrup base combined with blended ginger, creating an additional layer of flavor.
Once the ingredients are added to a shaker with ice, they are shaken together and poured over fresh ice. The drink is then topped with ginger ale to give it the fizz expected from a spritzer.
For an additional twist, Elrington added a splash of coconut milk, creating a visually striking drink with layers of pink, red, and white.
The result is a colorful cocktail that combines coconut, sorrel, ginger, and lime while putting a creative spin on familiar Belizean flavors.
Cocktails Can Also Be Mocktails
For viewers who prefer not to consume alcohol, Elrington noted that the spritzer can also be prepared as a mocktail.
The recipe can be adapted by leaving out the rum while maintaining the sorrel, lime, ginger, and other ingredients. This allows the drink to be enjoyed as a refreshing option for those who choose not to drink alcohol.
Elrington also emphasized that Travellers’ goal is to show consumers how simple ingredients and products available at local supermarkets and stores can be transformed into creative drinks.
September Deals at Travellers
Beyond the cocktail demonstration, Travellers is also preparing special promotions for the September Celebrations season.
From September 1 through September 19, Travellers will be offering bazaar-style deals on its range of rums, including its coconut rum.
Elrington encouraged customers to look out for the promotions, while keeping some of the specific deals under wraps.
Travellers’ bazaar-style promotions are known for offering significant discounts, and the September deals will provide customers with opportunities to purchase different rum products at special prices throughout the celebrations.
Taking Travellers to the September Celebrations
Travellers will also be taking part in several events and activities during the September season.
Elrington highlighted Travellers’ participation at Fete in the Yard and other September events, giving consumers opportunities to interact with the brand beyond its stores.
Travellers will also continue offering its museum tours at its location on the Philip Goldson Highway. Visitors can explore the company’s rum museum and learn more about the production and history behind its products.
The tours also include opportunities to taste some of Travellers’ rums, including aged varieties.
Exploring Belizean Rum
According to Elrington, Travellers offers aged rums that reach up to 18 years, with some of its rums aged in ex-Bourbon casks.
The museum experience provides visitors with an opportunity to learn more about Travellers’ rum-making tradition while sampling some of the company’s products.
As Travellers prepares for another September Celebrations season, the focus is on combining Belizean flavors, creativity, and innovation while encouraging consumers to explore different ways of enjoying local rum.
With its Coconut Sorrel Spritzer, September promotions, event appearances, and museum experiences, Travellers Liquors is bringing its own flavor to Belize’s September Celebrations while encouraging consumers to celebrate responsibly.
