Trump Claims the U.S. Destroyed a Major Facility in Venezuela, But Did It Actually Happen?
President Donald Trump said the United States recently destroyed a major facility in Venezuela as part of its pressure campaign against President Nicolás Maduro.
Speaking on Friday during a radio interview on WABC, Trump said, “They have a big plant or a big facility where the ships come from. Two nights ago, we knocked that out. So we hit them very hard.”
The White House did not respond to requests for clarification. Venezuelan authorities have also not reported the destruction of any major facility or denounced an attack. It remains unclear which facility Trump was referring to or where it was located.
The comment came as Trump discussed ongoing U.S. actions against Venezuela, including strikes on suspected drug boats and a blockade of oil tankers under sanctions.
