Two Armed Men Carjack Driver in Sandhill

Sandeep Kumar was carjacked in Sandhill, Belize District, on Saturday after two armed men blocked his path and forced him out of his vehicle.

ACP Hilberto Romero, head of the National Investigations Branch, said, “On Saturday, Sandeep Kumar reported that he was driving on the highway when he was followed by another vehicle and he heard gunshots. The vehicle went in front of him and they blocked his way.”

The two men then got out of a red Chevrolet Equinox with firearms. They struck Kumar in the head with a firearm, dragged him from his Honda Civic and drove away towards Belize City.

Police later found both the Honda Civic and the red Equinox in Maxboro. Romero said the Equinox was identified as belonging to a rental company in the Cayo District.

Both vehicles have been processed by police, but the suspects had fled the area and were not found.
