Two Men Detained following Shooting Outside Club in Belize City

Two men are in police custody after an early-morning shooting outside Midnight Lounge in Belize City. Police say 28-year-old Guadelupe  Escalante and 19-year-old Kenyon Maskall were detained after expended shells were found on the pavement and inside a red Kia Soul. According to Senior Superintendent of police, Reymundo Reyes, a search of the vehicle uncovered a .38 revolver and 22 live rounds. Investigators report the men were involved in an altercation inside the nightclub that led to gunfire outside.

“We have a report of a shooting incident. Luckily, nobody was injured. Police intercepted a vehicle with two occupants. A search was conducted on the vehicle, which led to the discovery of a pointer eight revolver. And so ammunition on board. That matter is being looked at, persons will definitely be charged for kept firearm without a gun license and ammunition.”
