Two Suspects Detained After Attempted Abduction in Corozal

Two suspects are in police custody after two men were allegedly forcibly taken in a red pickup truck in San Andres, Corozal.

ACP Hilberto Romero said police intercepted the vehicle after receiving information about the incident.

“Police intercepted a red pickup truck in Corozal in the San Andres area after information was received that they had forcibly taken two persons in the vehicle. Police found four persons in the vehicle,” Romero said.

The two men were identified as Ricardo Zetina and Walter Pineda. They reported that they had been forcibly taken and questioned about stolen items.

Romero said the suspects later went to the brother of one of the men and questioned him about the alleged stolen items before police were called.

Romero said the suspects were “accusing them of buying some stolen items from persons in the area.”

The two suspects remain in police custody and are to be charged on Monday.
