U.S. ICE Arrests Several Belizeans with Serious Criminal Records
The United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has announced the arrest of multiple Belizean nationals as part of its ongoing “Worst of the Worst” enforcement initiative, carried out by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). The program targets undocumented immigrants convicted of serious crimes, prioritizing the deportation of violent and repeat offenders.
According to DHS, ICE officers across several states have conducted arrests focusing on individuals considered significant threats to public safety.
Belizean nationals arrested under the campaign include:
- Nestor Alberto Castillo – Sturtevant, Wisconsin; convicted of carrying a concealed weapon, trespassing, larceny, and bail violations.
- Jomo Avila – Van Nuys, California; convicted of sexual assault, aggravated assault involving a family member, failure to register as a sex offender, molestation of a minor, and other child sex offenses.
- Akeem Garnett – Soledad, California; convicted of domestic violence, residential burglary, and illegal re-entry into the U.S.
- Aaron Sabal – Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; convicted of possession of a weapon.
- Marlon William Bell – San Pedro, California; convicted of assault, cruelty toward his wife, domestic violence, and aggravated assault involving a firearm.
- Carlos Gomez – Wickliffe, Kentucky; convicted of aggravated assault and other crimes against persons.
- Francis Flowers – Yazoo City, Mississippi; convicted of assault, robbery, battery, and illegal re-entry.
- Shane Arnold – Lompoc, California; convicted of carrying a concealed weapon and drug trafficking.
- Winston Knight – Chesapeake, Virginia; convicted of assault and drug possession.
- Kimala Henry – Los Angeles, California; convicted of drug trafficking and possession with intent to sell marijuana.
- Ashley Rivers – Miramar, Florida; convicted of larceny and drug possession.
- Lindon Flowers – Hawthorne, California; convicted of terroristic threats and extortion.
- Theodore Reneau – Butner, North Carolina; convicted of aggravated assault and illegal re-entry.
DHS said these arrests have taken place over the past five years, with all individuals facing prosecution prior to deportation proceedings. The department said that the initiative is nationality-neutral, targeting all undocumented immigrants with serious criminal records who pose threats to public safety.
