UDP Says They Are in “Fit and Fine Fighting Form”
The United Democratic Party (UDP) has announced a new slate of executive and committee appointments, with Chair Sheena Pitts stating that the leadership is built on inclusion, consultation, and accountability.
Pitts confirmed the Central Executive lineup, led by Tracey Taegar Panton as Party Leader, Hugo Patt as First Deputy, and Miguel Guerra as Second Deputy. “We are configuring in fit and fine fighting form,” she declared, introducing committee chairs and regional leaders across the country.
She named Damien Goff as Chair of Policy and Planning, calling him “the man behind our machinery to show this nation… you better believe we’re coming good.”
Pitts also announced Anne Marie Williams as Director of the National Organisation for Women and Melvin Sutherland Jr. as Director of Youth. “For long youths have been treated as if though they have no space… with this appointment the UDP sends the message, no more,” she said.
Regional caucus leaders include Dr Omar Figueroa (West), Godwin Hulse (Central), Alfonso Sanchez (South), and Tony Herrera (North).
The UDP confirmed its national campaign leadership with Juliet Thimbrel as Campaign Manager and unveiled policy platform committees. These include health led by Kim Simplice Barrow, tourism chaired by Karen Bevans, banking and financial services under Natalie Goff, national security chaired by Errol Gentle, energy under Lawrence Lopez, infrastructure led by Denny Grijalva, and the National Health Insurance chaired by Carlos Perrera.
Pitts closed with a rallying message, declaring at the Opposition’s press conference, “UDP is in fine, fit, fighting form. And when I tell you UDP is ready, UDP is ready.”
