UDP Slams Briceño Over Crime, Redistricting Delays, and Rising Costs

The United Democratic Party is challenging the Briceño administration over what it claims are several social issues driving national hardship. Chairwoman Sheena Pitts, took the lead in raising these issues, pointing to escalating crime, the delay in carrying out the redistricting exercise, no progress in the two-million-dollar People’s Constitution Commission Report and the cost of living.

“Let me remind you as the party leader pointed out, escalating crime, the Fortis buyout, the two million dollar PCC report, the redistricting exercise and make no mistake the UDP supports redistricting, the kidnapping of Budna. Nuh forget, we still want know who thief Budna. The spiraling cost of living, because everything the guh up, not only on the food, now on the taxes side. Property, utilities and who is to say that should this deal go the rates for telecommunications wont also go up. You heard the party leader say the regulatory body and the roll hey have to play is important and the fact they want to push for a monopoly in that kind of framework is most dangerous and we argue also unlawful. Fuel prices that is not going down, but going up. The borrowing on the back of Belizeans.”
