UK Names Acting Deputy High Commissioner to Belize

The British High Commission in Belmopan has announced the appointment of William Roberts as Acting Deputy High Commissioner to Belize, effective August 2025. Roberts joined the Diplomatic Service in 2022 after two years at the UK Health Security Agency during the COVID-19 pandemic.

In London, he served as Assistant Private Secretary to the Foreign Secretary, a role that took him to more than 40 countries. Most recently, he worked across the British Overseas Territories portfolio for the Minister of State. The High Commission said they look forward to the experience, energy, and fresh perspective Roberts brings to the role.

As Acting Deputy High Commissioner, Roberts will support the High Commissioner in managing the British High Commission, advise on key diplomatic matters, and represent the UK in Belize in the absence of the High Commissioner.
