UN Officials Meet with Minister Usher to Boost Belize’s Resilience

Minister Henry Charles Usher hosted top UN reps in Belmopan yesterday to strengthen Belize’s partnership with the United Nations. The high-level meeting focused on disaster preparedness, good governance, and aligning national efforts with global development goals. UN Resident Coordinator Raul Salazar and Deputy Michael Lund joined Usher to explore new projects that could bring real benefits to Belizeans. National Emergency Coordinator Daniel Mendez also emphasized the need to include emergency planning in future initiatives. All parties left the meeting committed to working together and keeping communication strong as Belize tackles climate challenges and modernizes public services.
