Weekend Shootings Fueled by Gang Rivalries

So, were this weekend’s shootings and murders connected? That’s the big question reporters put to Acting Commissioner of Police Bart Jones today. His answer is that most of them were fueled by gang rivalries, and investigators are now working to piece together how these violent incidents are linked.

“ So far the, with the exception of the, the, the death of Mister Kelan, those others appear to be gang related at, at so far our investigation is showing, so the shooting  the Phillip Wilson Highway, shooting on the East Canal and as well the shooting at old Belize are appearing to be gang related at this point.”

“And are they related to each other in terms of retaliatory strikes?”

“We are looking, information suggests that it is, but we are looking at the evidence to try and tie those things together.”
