What Makes Belize Unique?
Belize is enhancing its international presence with a strategic and unified branding initiative. Today, government officials and industry leaders came together to kick off an exciting journey, the launch of the country’s first-ever unified national brand. It’s all part of a twenty-two-week initiative, backed by the Inter-American Development Bank and led by BELTRAIDE, aimed at redefining how Belize presents itself to the world. Whether it’s attracting investors, building trade relationships, or boosting tourism, the objective is to showcase the very best of Belize in a cohesive, compelling way. Deputy Director of BELTRAIDE, Monique Usher, shared insights into what this ambitious branding exercise means for the country, and what we can expect in the weeks ahead.

“This country brand exercise is the part of a larger project under trade and investment – a project that BELTRAIDE has with the Inter-American Development Bank that’s being executed by the central executing unit in partnership with BELTRAIDE. So this country brand allows us an opportunity to define how we show up as a country. You may know other countries like Turkey, they have a strong country brand, and so all the other fragmented parts tourism, investment trade are represented under the country brand. So any new branding identity that’s formed is. A part of that collective country brand. The consultant has been in consultation with private sector, public sector and has also been doing this research on Belize as a country. And they have also been able to issue out a survey to receive feedback from respondents. Some of the areas that has stood out in the research would be our environmental sustainability. So those are things that the wider public associates with Belize and international Markets associates with Belize. So we do have a very dynamic brand as Belize, but we’re looking at how do we, present something that speaks to investment tourism, trade culture so that is the reason why we are looking at developing a country brand.”
