Five police units across Belize are receiving brand new patrol vehicles, an investment expected to deliver what communities want most: faster responses and safer streets.

The Government of Belize announced on Thursday that it has handed over five new Isuzu D-Max pickups to strengthen police operations and crime-fighting efforts. The vehicles have been assigned to the Benque Viejo Formation, the Roaring Creek Quick Response Team, the Orange Walk Crimes Investigation Branch, the Corozal Formation and the Violence Prevention and Enforcement Unit.

According to the government, the vehicles were “strategically assigned” to improve operational capacity in key policing areas.

“This targeted investment in public safety ensures that officers in these critical areas have the reliable mobility needed to effectively serve and protect their communities,” the announcement statement read.
