World Travel Market Excited for Belize’s Return

After more than a decade away, Belize is back at the World Travel Market in London, and its return is being welcomed as more than just another country reclaiming exhibition space. For the event’s Executive Director Chris Carter-Chapman, having Belize represented is part of what makes this global tourism marketplace meaningful, bringing destinations of every size together to share ideas, build partnerships and shape the future of travel. And with tens of thousands of tourism professionals walking through the doors this year, Belize is once again positioning itself to be seen, heard and connected. Here’s how the WTM director views Belize’s return.

“It’s absolutely integral to WTM to have as much representation from around the world as possible. To have Belize back here is wonderful this year, and as you’ve just heard at the ministers’ summit, we’ve been talking about resilience, how we rebound from the challenges we’re facing, and how we reinvent our industry. And you can only do that if you have representation from countries of all sizes, all geographies. So from my perspective as director of the show, so happy to have Belize back. Tell us about this year’s participation, all the people that will be passing through. This year’s participation has been so varied. We have tens of thousands of people from across the trade. We’ve also got the launch of our travel tr- tech trade downstairs, which lots of private sector representatives have been meeting with tourism boards like Belize to look at how they can build new collaborations. So it’s been a really exciting set of partnerships this year.”

Belize Tourism Board representatives are currently attending the Wonderlust Reader Travel Awards where our destination is nominated for two awards, Most Desirable Emerging Destination and Most Desirable Country Worldwide.
