Inspector Ester Cal Graduates Valedictorian in Regional Police Course

Belize is making its mark in regional law enforcement, and Police Inspector Ester Cal is leading that charge. Cal graduated as valedictorian of the Junior Officers’ Course hosted by the Guyana Police Force Academy, after two months of training alongside officers from across the Caribbean. She also captured the Best Academic Paper Award, earning top honors in the program. ASP Stacy Smith says Cal’s achievement reflects not only her personal commitment to professional growth, but also Belize’s growing presence as a leader in regional policing.

“The Belize Police Department and the Ministry of Home Affairs congratulates Inspector Ester Cal, Deputy Commander of the Mobile Interdiction Unit, on graduating as valedictorian of the Junior Officers Course Number 1 of 2026, which was held in Guyana at the Guyana Police Force Academy. Inspector Cal also received the Best Academic Paper Award, which she shared with Assistant Superintendent Chatram of the Guyana Police Force. The intensive two-month program brought together police officers and security personnel from ten Caribbean countries to strengthen leadership, professional competence, and regional cooperation. The department commends Inspector Cal for her outstanding achievement, which reflects her professionalism, dedication, and a commitment to excellence while bringing pride to Belize on the regional stage.”

 

Cal was among thirty-one officers who graduated from that course.
