Youth Cadets March Forward After Week of Training and Teamwork

Nearly three hundred young Belizeans spent the past week in Dangriga learning more than drills and discipline. They were building confidence, leadership, teamwork, and a stronger sense of service to country. The twenty-seventh National Police Youth Cadet Corps Summer Camp wrapped up on Friday after seven days of training, celebration, and reflection on how the program continues to shape the next generation of Belizean leaders.

“The Belize Police Department has successfully concluded the twenty-seventh Annual National Police Youth Cadet Corp Camp, which was held in Dangriga Town from July twenty-fifth to August first under the theme, Command with Honor, Inspire Action, Teaching Young Minds for a Successful Tomorrow. The week-long camp brought together two hundred and seventy-nine cadets and eighty police and civilian instructors from across Belize for leadership training, educational sessions, sports, cultural activities, and community service. Cadets also participated in promotional examinations and competitions, with sixty-nine cadets earning promotion, and the Northern Region won the football and the foot drill competition, whilst the Eastern Region captured the basketball and volleyball titles. The camp concluded with an award ceremony and a parade through Dangriga, reaffirming the Belize Police Department’s commitment to developing discipline, responsible, and community-minded young leaders, and we are grateful for personnel of the Community Policing Unit and those other members of the community that assisted with this venture.”

 

The camp was held this year under the theme “Command with Honor, Inspire Action, Teaching Young Minds for a Successful Tomorrow.”
