“We’re having a grand event this weekend. We’re having a Junior Caribbean Championship this weekend. On Saturday we’re having the ITT, which will be held on the Boom Road. On Sunday, we’re having the road race which will be held on the Northern Road between the flag monument and the last roundabout heading towards the airport. It’s gonna be a great event. We have fourteen countries here in Belize that’s gonna be participating in this Caribbean Junior Championship. So some of the guys have already arrived. We’re here at the famous bike shop, Ordonez Bike Shop, getting some of their bikes get ready for the race. So we’re hoping to have a great weekend this weekend. We’re inviting all the Belizeans to come out and support our Belizeans. We’re hoping to keep that gold medal here in Belize. Last year we had the elite championship here and most of the Caribbean Union had participated in that. We had seventeen countries that came in for that one. And we held a congress out in Brazil and it was offered back to Belize again. Everybody had – the whole Cycling Caribbean Union love Belize and they wanted to come back. So they gave us the Junior Caribbean Championship. So they’re here again and they love Belize. They wanna continue doing it here in Belize.”
Motorists are advised to plan their routes, exercise caution and follow the instructions of police and traffic officers. The Cycling Federation is also inviting the public to come out and cheer on Team Belize as they compete to keep the medals at home.
