Nineteen Shells Recovered After Supermarket Shooting
Police are investigating a shooting that left a thirty-one-year-old tour guide, Jean Villatoro hospitalized after he reportedly came upon a group of masked men near a supermarket in northern San Pedro early Friday morning. According to reports, around two forty a.m. Villatoro heard a noise coming from the area of Palm Supermarket and went to check on the disturbance. While shining a flashlight behind the building, he reportedly encountered four men dressed in black clothing with their faces covered. Villatoro said he believed the men were attempting to break into the supermarket before shots were fired and he sustained two gunshot wounds to the abdomen. Villatoro had subsequently transported him to the San Pedro Polyclinic for treatment. A security guard from a nearby resort also reported hearing a vessel leaving the area around the time of the shooting. Information is that up to nineteen expended shells were recovered from the scene and the investigation remains ongoing.
