Where Is His Motorcycle? Alta Vista Man Says Police ‘Misplaced’ It

Jose Luis Johnson is seeking answers about his motorcycle, which he says was taken to the police station after he was knocked down in a hit-and-run incident on May 23, 2026. Johnson says he has repeatedly visited the Dangriga Police Station seeking information about the motorcycle but has been unable to find out where it is.

Johnson told News 5 that he was returning home to Alta Vista after coming from work in Hopkins when he was knocked down while riding his motorcycle. He said the driver fled from the scene before police arrived.

According to Johnson, only his motorcycle remained at the scene, and police took it to the station. He says that since then, he has been trying to recover the motorcycle but was repeatedly sent from one person to another without being given clear information about its whereabouts.

Following the incident, Johnson says two officers told him they would come to his home to take his report. However, he claims the officers never showed up or got back to him.

The situation, he says, has left him without a way to get back to work, as he needs the motorcycle for transportation. He is now asking whether police will take responsibility for helping him recover it and wants to know what happened to the motorcycle after it was taken to the station.

Johnson is also demanding answers regarding the incident, saying he believes the person who knocked him down has not been held accountable.
