Supa G to be Honoured as 2026 Living Legend

The Belizean entertainer is this year’s honouree for the Living Legends Concert, being held tonight at Lord Rhaburn Plaza in Belize City as part of the September Celebrations.

According to Kim Vasquez, Director of the Institute of Creative Arts, Supa G will also perform a song from his new album during the concert.

For Supa G, being recognised as one of Belize’s living musical legends is a feeling he says is made even more meaningful because the recognition is coming from his own people. “It’s a great feeling to be honored or to be noticed or recognized by your own people,” Supa G said.

The recognition marks a journey that began when he was just 12 years old.

“I wanted to be a radio announcer, then when I started high school, I saw Andy Palacio and said I want to be just like this guy when I grow up,” he recalled.

At the time, however, he did not see music becoming a full-time profession.

“I didn’t think about it to this level, probably just as a part time, something on the side, not as a professional,” he said.

Supa G says much of his inspiration still comes from everyday life and from paying attention to what people are listening to. “I always make sure I have my ears on the ground, listening to what people like,” he said.
