NTUCB Demands Change In BTL Representation

The battle for a seat on the BTL board is heating up, with organized labour calling on small shareholders to vote for new representation. The National Trade Union Congress of Belize, along with several affiliate unions, is throwing its support behind former BTL employee Erven Marin, who spent more than thirty-two years with the company. The NTUCB says Marin would bring stronger communication, accountability and consultation to the board. It is also openly challenging current Small Shareholders Director Eric Eusey, claiming shareholders have lost confidence in his leadership because he has not meaningfully consulted them on major issues affecting the company. The congress is now urging small shareholders to attend BTL’s twentieth general meeting on September seventeenth, or submit proxy forms, to support Marin’s nomination and send what it describes as a clear message that their voices must be heard.
