Massive Expo Turnout Renews Call for Indoor Venue
Rain, heat and an outdoor venue were not enough to keep the crowds away from this year’s Expo Belize Market Place. Close to ten thousand visitors poured into the Marion Jones Sports Complex over the weekend, surpassing last year’s attendance and delivering strong sales for participating businesses. As the Belize Chamber of Commerce and Industry celebrated the Expo’s thirtieth anniversary, the turnout showed why the event remains an important marketplace for local entrepreneurs. But its growing popularity also highlighted a familiar challenge: Belize may now need a larger, fully indoor venue capable of protecting exhibitors and shoppers from the weather.
