Two Families Grieve as Couple’s Deaths Remain Unexplained

A missed school drop-off raised concern among relatives and eventually led to a heartbreaking discovery inside a home near Hillview Park in Santa Elena. There, family members reportedly found a young couple dead under circumstances that remain unclear. Their bodies were already in an advanced state of decomposition, making the search for answers even more difficult. Tonight, two grieving families are waiting to learn what happened and how the couple died. Shane Williams reports.

It was a discovery that has left two families devastated and an entire community asking questions. Cayo police found the bodies of thirty-one-year-old Michael Williams and twenty-one-year-old Delisha Estrada inside their residence near Hillview Park. The condition of the bodies suggests the couple may have been inside the house for some time before anyone found them. Investigators must now piece together a critical part of the timeline: when did they die, and how long did they remain undiscovered?

“Information is that both persons were last seen on Saturday and thereafter they had not been seen. When they did not pick up their child, families became concerned. They checked the house and there was when the bodies were discovered.”

 

Police have not yet determined what caused the couple’s deaths. Investigators also say there is no confirmed evidence at this stage that foul play was involved. That leaves investigators working to establish what happened inside the home. Estrada’s family believe she was killed.

“They explain to us  that they mi have to do a autopsy because mi niece mi have head injuries. And then they find poison along in the house side of the young man. A lot of rumors going on, and we know Delisha so we know that he have to mi harm she. She never mi wa harm herself at all. She never mi wa harm ihself.”

 

Forensic experts initially intended to examine the bodies onsite because of their advanced condition, allowing the families to proceed with immediate burials. But after a preliminary inspection, the experts determined that a more detailed examination was necessary and transported the remains from the scene.

“The doctor visited the scene and made an analysis. At this time we are awaiting the postmortem examinations to determine the cause of death.”

 

Residents who spoke with us on condition of anonymity say they have witnessed multiple instances of domestic violence at the residence and even through the streets. According to the family, a suicide note was left behind.

“We have several reports made of domestic violence made by the female.”

“I know she may have gone through domestic. We try to get that out, so but I don’t, I can’t say what happened. But I know she had a domestic.”

“We also discover wa letter. Just a little short note weh he write stating say that he the try protect his son, but her family too bad minded. That da weh the paper mark yo know.”

 

As police continue their investigation, preparations are being made to lay Michael Williams and Delisha Estrada to rest. For now, there are more questions than answers for the families, and investigators are expected to rely heavily on the post-mortem findings to determine what happened to these two young parents.
