Three Armed Men Rob Restaurant, Take Security Guard’s Gun

Three armed men robbed Midtown Restaurant in Belize City on Friday, taking a security guard’s 9mm pistol.

“The security guard reported that he was on duty armed with the nine millimeter pistol when a vehicle arrived with three male persons who were armed with firearms,” ACP Hilberto Romero said.

According to Romero, one of the suspects struggled with the security guard and took his pistol, while another entered the establishment and took a bag containing documents.

Police later recovered and impounded the vehicle believed to have been used in the robbery.

Romero said police are reviewing video footage and searching for the three suspects. Investigators are also checking with the Transport Department to determine who owns the vehicle.
