Found Chopped to Death in OW 

Wilson Perez was found dead with chop wounds in Carmelita Village, Orange Walk District, on Tuesday morning. This is after family members searched for him when he failed to return home the night before.

“Information is that Perez left his house last night around 10.30 p.m. saying he was going to the football field in Carmelita and did not return,” ACP Hilberto Romero said. When he did not return, his family became concerned and searched the area, eventually finding his body.

Sources told News 5 that Perez was found with his head severed and that there were reports that someone had attempted to burn his body.

Police were called to the area around 7:50 a.m. on Tuesday. Romero said the scene was being processed and investigators would conduct a full investigation into the killing.
