Briceño Eyes 2030, But Is The Party With Him?

The next general election may be four years away, but the conversation about the PUP’s future leadership has already begun. “I fully support the prime minister, as our partly leader, now that is a political question. As I have said, I don’t think we should be talking about third terms. We just got elected last year. We have a lot of work ahead of us. The country faces a lot of challenges, but there is absolutely no question of the fact that as a party and as a Cabinet we fully support our party leader, John Briceno. We fully support him as our party leader and prime minister and if he decides to run for a third term, I certainly would support him.”
