Camalote Family Seeks Blood Donations for Hit-and-Run Victim
A Camalote Village family is seeking blood donations for Timothy Coleman, who remains in critical condition at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital (KHMH) after he was reportedly struck by a motorcycle.
According to information his older brother, Elston Coleman, received from relatives and friends in Camalote, Timothy was walking when the motorcycle swerved towards him.
Elston told News 5 that a motorcycle was travelling in the opposite direction from an eastbound car, whose high beams allegedly blinded the rider.
“He has lost a lot of blood and he is in need of blood to do a surgery,” Elston said.
Elston said he spoke with his brother last night and that, although Timothy remained critical, his condition had stabilised somewhat and he was “still in high spirits.”
The family has also encountered difficulties obtaining a medical report documenting Timothy’s injuries. Elston said he believes the process should be handled by the police rather than the family. “I believe that this is unnecessary work that the family has to do,” he said.
Elston described his brother as a dependable handyman who takes on different jobs to help others.
He also told News 5 that Timothy was scheduled to get married on November 14, but those plans have now been disrupted. “He was scheduled to get married but now all that is shattered,” he said.
According to his family, Timothy needs six pints of blood. Anyone willing to donate can contact the family at 602-9222 or 616-1808.
