Police Say Kenny Juice’s is Shooting Gang Related

A familiar name in Belize’s entertainment scene is recovering after two gunmen opened fire on him Monday evening. Kenroy Linares, better known as Kenny Juice, was shot on Queen Charlotte Street after the men approached him. As news of the attack spread online, Club Bizzo’s owners moved to correct reports linking the shooting to their establishment, saying it happened farther up the street. Linares remains hospitalized in stable condition. Police have not established a motive, but investigators say the shooting may be connected to gang activity.

ASP Stacy Smith, Staff Officer

“The investigation commenced at around 7:30 PM on 26th October when officers on patrol in the Yabra area were alerted to the sounds of shots being fired and were further advised by the police control room that the incident had occurred on Queen Charlotte Street. What has been learned so far in the course of this ongoing investigation is that 26-year-old Kenroy Linares had exited a shop and was approached by two male persons who fired shots in his direction, injuring him. He was ferried for medical attention where he’s listed in a stable condition. No exact motive has been established so far. However, based on the information that is known to police as of now, we believe that it is gang-related.”
