Who Ordered the Coastal Plain Massacre?
Police are stepping up patrols along the Coastal Plain Highway after Friday’s quadruple murder sent shockwaves across the country. The brutal attack, described as one of Belize’s worst mass killings since the 2013 George Street massacre, has left investigators working to identify those responsible and uncover what triggered the deadly ambush.

“Part of our restructuring had looked at the creation of a unit that focus on Highway interdiction. The highway interdiction was also set up on the Coastal Plain Highway to specifically monitor criminal minded individuals that traverse that isolated area. We have one VCP that is manned by the security forces and the police.”

“From the intelligence we have gathered and from what we have been briefed by the investigators, the incident that happened on the Coastal Plain Highway is due to an internal feud by one of the fractions.”
