“Police are investigating the murder of seventeen-year-old Kevin Meraz which occurred in  the an early morning hours of today. Police, as I have stated, detained five male minors in relation to this. The investigation commenced when police were advised of the presence of an injured Meraz at the hospital seeking medical attention and what we have been able to gather so far is that Meraz and a group of six persons were socializing when a dispute arose and that resulted in the stabbing of Mr. Meraz.  It is a matter that is under investigation and as more development is made, that will be made known to the public.”
