Police Investigate Fatal Bella Vista Stabbing

The Commissioner of Police, Dr. Richard Rosado, has confirmed that officers responded to a fatal stabbing in Bella Vista Village on Tuesday afternoon. He says the incident arose from what he described as a misunderstanding over stolen items. Forty-year-old Franklin Arenivar de Alas was killed during the confrontation, and police have since detained one man in connection with the case. Dr. Rosado says investigators are gathering statements and evidence to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the dispute.

“ Yesterday sometime after mid-day police responded to a fatal stabbing incident in Bella Vista Village our initial investigation reveal that two individual had a misunderstanding which subsequently resulted in a physical altercation to the stabbing death of one individual the person has since been detained the weapon used has been ceased we are presently compiling the file and will be forwarded to the director of public prosecution for her advice. From what we understand the deceased had approached the suspect over an item he believed he may have stolen from him.”
