San Pedro Teen Charged With Attempted Murder

Police have charged a 16-year-old male minor in connection with the shooting of 25-year-old barber Jose Manuel Velasquez, which occurred on the morning of Tuesday, August 26.

According to investigators, Velasquez was approached by a known male individual around 6:00 a.m. in San Pedro Town. During the confrontation, the suspect allegedly fired multiple shots at him, striking the barber. Velasquez was rushed to the San Pedro Polyclinic, where he was treated and is reported to be in stable condition.

Police formally arrested the teenage suspect, charging him with attempted murder and use of deadly means of harm. The charges were brought in the presence of the minor’s parents and a Community Rehabilitation Officer.
