Four-Year-Old Dies After Falling Into Well

A family’s visit to San Narciso ended in tragedy Thursday evening. Police are investigating the drowning of a four-year-old boy who fell into a well while visiting his grandparents. Authorities say the child, Rigel Primiños, was last seen playing in the yard around 3:30 p.m. When his grandfather noticed the well cover open and his sandals floating inside, the alarm was raised. Villagers and rescue teams worked for hours, but sadly, Rigel’s body was later recovered. He would have turned five in January. Rigel was the elder of two children and leaves behind a three-year-old sister. His body has been taken to Belize City for a post-mortem examination.
