17‑Year‑Old Dies After Motorcycle Crashes Into Bus
Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in southern Belize that claimed the life of a seventeen-year-old boy on Monday evening. Authorities say the crash happened along the Thomas Vincent Ramos Highway, between miles forty-three and forty-four, where a bus and a motorcycle collided. Initial reports indicate that the bus was making a left turn into an intersection when the motorcycle, carrying two riders, attempted to overtake and crashed into the front of the vehicle. The impact threw the young rider from the motorcycle to the front of the bus, where he was dragged a short distance underneath before the bus came to a stop. He has since been identified as Jessler Tzot [pronounced: Sot] of Bella Vista Village. This marks the second motorcycle and bus crash on the Thomas Vincent Ramos Highway in the past three days.
