Lord’s Bank Community in Shock After Another Execution-Style Killing

For George Anglin, construction wasn’t just work, it was how he stayed grounded, building a life close to the people he loved. But that sense of safety was ripped away Wednesday night. Gunmen reportedly lured Anglin outside his home in Lord’s Bank, then opened fire, killing him just steps from his own door. Now, a family is left grieving, and a community is once again shaken by gun violence hitting too close to home. Tonight police are confirming that Anglin was receiving threats prior to his murder. News Five’s Paul Lopez has more on the killing and the lives it has shattered.

“I could not even look, I could not even look at him.”

Construction was his passion. George Anglin spent his days putting up this three-bedroom apartment, brick by brick. But tonight, that project remains unfinished and his life, cut tragically short. Gunfire erupted on his Lord’s Bank property, and it was someone close who heard it all. Anglin’s niece says she rushed over the moment the shots rang out, desperate to help her uncle.

“I rushed cross there I went through the lee short cut. My uncle was on the ground in a pool of his own blood. By the time I got there, there were already police there, people gathering, talking and I could not hold back tears.”

According to reports, Anglin’s killers called him by name from the street side. He walked several feet from his doorsteps to the street side before his assailants opened fire. Earlier that day, Anglin took his motorcycle to a nearby mechanic.

“A cycle pulled up outside and they shouted for him by name and he went outside. So they thought the man bring back the cycle, so he went outside.”

For the Anglin family, this latest loss cuts deep and it’s not the first. In December 2025, George Anglin’s brother, Beris Anglin, was shot and killed inside his home in Orange Walk. Two decades earlier, their father was also murdered, stabbed to death in the same district. Now, the family is grieving yet another violent loss. Tonight, police are investigating the murder of George Anglin, as a cycle of tragedy continues to haunt his loved ones.

“Anglin was at home when someone called out for him. When he went outside, he was met with gunfire which resulted in his demise. No motive was established in this incident as police investigation continues.”

Shane Williams

“From what we understand, he had a brother that was recently killed. Could they have been related?”

ASP Stacy Smith

“There is no information so far suggesting a nexus with the two, however the investigation is ongoing.”

“From my knowledge he was a good person, at least a good family person and a good father figure.”

For Anglin’s family, Wednesday night’s incident revealed just how sudden and painful loss can be under these circumstances.

“Its cruel and it just makes me want to stay far from everybody and want to enclose myself and not mess with anybody, because you never know who is out to hurt you just to hurt you.”

Police continue to investigate the killing as Anglin’s family struggles to come to terms with yet another violent loss. Reporting for News Five, I am Paul Lopez.
