Elon Musk Set to Become World’s First Trillionaire

Elon Musk is on the verge of becoming the world’s first trillionaire as SpaceX prepares for what is expected to be the largest initial public offering (IPO) in history later this month.

According to filings released by SpaceX, the company plans to raise approximately $75 billion through its stock market debut on June 12, offering more than 555 million shares at $135 each. The offering would value the aerospace giant at roughly $1.77 trillion, placing it among the most valuable companies in the world.

Musk, who owns approximately 42 percent of SpaceX and maintains voting control through the company’s dual-class share structure, stands to see the value of his stake rise to an estimated $866.5 billion. When combined with his holdings in electric vehicle manufacturer Tesla, currently valued at more than $300 billion, Musk’s wealth could exceed $1.1 trillion.

Financial analysts say that even under more conservative calculations, Musk’s net worth is approaching the trillion-dollar milestone. The Bloomberg Billionaires Index estimates his fortune at nearly $1 trillion, meaning any increase in SpaceX’s share price following its market debut could push him beyond the historic mark.

SpaceX’s rapid growth has been fueled largely by Starlink, its satellite internet service, which serves millions of customers worldwide and generates the majority of the company’s revenue. The company has also expanded its ambitions beyond satellite communications, investing heavily in its Starship rocket program and artificial intelligence ventures linked to Musk’s xAI company.
