Police Seize Gun and Drugs in Multiple Operations, Four Charged
Police have made several arrests across the country following separate operations that turned up an unlicensed firearm and quantities of suspected crack cocaine.
In the first incident, officers arrested and charged Balbina Camara and Melissa Mendez of San Pedro Town for keeping a firearm without a gun licence and keeping ammunition without a licence.
Police say the charges follow a Wednesday search at their home, where officers from intelligence and operations units discovered a Ruger 9mm pistol containing six live rounds of ammunition.
In a separate case, police charged Nelson Carl of Bella Vista Village with possession of a controlled drug with intent to supply.
Officers say the arrest came after a GH3 operation, during which a search revealed a plastic bag containing 34 small foil packets of suspected crack cocaine in his pants pocket. The drugs weighed 3.4 grams.
In another drug bust, police arrested and charged John Gabourel of Jose Maria Nunez Street in Punta Gorda for possession of a controlled drug with intent to supply.
According to police, Gabourel was searched on Friday, June 12, as he exited a terminal carrying a manila envelope. Inside, officers reportedly found two plastic bags containing suspected crack cocaine weighing 57.79 grams.
