New Leak Points to $400K Windfall for Company Tied to Minister’s Brother
Tonight, newly surfaced documents appear to show a company linked to the brother of Minister of National Defense Oscar Mira receiving a significant payout, nearly four hundred thousand dollars. What’s raising eyebrows isn’t just the amount, but how it was billed, forty-four separate invoices, all processed on the same day, and each one falling just under the ten-thousand-dollar threshold. That detail is now fueling concerns about whether standard procurement scrutiny may have been sidestepped. As the controversy builds, News Five’s Shane Williams digs into the records and the growing concerns surrounding yet another contract tied to the Mira family.

Even as multiple Freedom of Information requests remain unanswered over hundreds of thousands of dollars paid from the Ministry of National Defense to Jenny Mira, and fresh scrutiny builds over a reported contract awarding Stanley Mira more than twenty thousand dollars a month to supply rice and beans, newly leaked records are widening the picture. Those documents point to yet another sibling: Brian Mira. The latest disclosures shift the story from isolated contracts to what appears to be a pattern, raising new questions about how public funds are being distributed, and how many members of the same family are benefiting.
According to documents obtained by News Five, MP Farms, a company reportedly owned by Brian Mira, received forty-four separate payments on September twenty-fifth, twenty-twenty-five, totaling three hundred eighty-nine thousand, seven hundred ninety-six dollars and eighty-five cents.
The records show something else. The invoices were issued in an uninterrupted sequence, running from invoice number ten ninety-three through eleven thirty-six. And while the combined payments approached four hundred thousand dollars, every single invoice remained below ten thousand dollars.

Several invoices amounts also repeat. Records show four separate invoices valued at nine thousand, nine hundred seven dollars and sixty-five cents, while other amounts appear multiple times throughout the payment list.
